APPLICATION GUIDE

              APPLICATION GUIDE
PROCEDURE FOR THE IMPLANTATION OF THE 4.3 AND 7.0 MM HCS SCREWS IS IDENTICAL.
BUT NOTICE THE DIFFERENT DIMENSIONS OF THE INSTRUMENTS.

First, insert the drill sleeves into each other and place them together with the tissue protection sleeve onto
the planned entry point on the bone. (Fig. A)
A light hammer blow on the trocar sleeve (Fig. B) punch-marks the cortex for the guidewire. This step
prevents slipping of the guidewire on the cortex.

Remove the trocar sleeve (Fig. C). Guide the guidewire (Fig. D) through the guide wire sleeve and drill
under image converter control into the bone.
Note: In this application, the guidewire is shown in color to better illustrate its position. The original
              guidewire is not colored!

If the guidewire is correctly placed in the bone, take the gage and hold it with the front end directly onto the
guidewire sleeve (Fig. E). The guidewire should be centered in the indentation of the gage.
The length of the screw can be determined by means of the scaling on the measuring sleeve. Check the
length at the height of the round end of the Kirschner wire (Fig. F).

Remove the guidewire sleeve (Fig. G) and use a cannulated drill. Pass the drill over the guidewire through
the drill sleeve and drill the cannulated drill into the bone using the image converter to check for placement.
We recommend inserting the drill into the bone only just before the tip of the guidewire (Fig. H). If you over-
drill the tip of the guidewire, it may lose its hold and be removed when the drill is pulled out!
