APPLICATION GUIDE
2.5 MM HS HEADED SCREW
WHEN USING THE SYSTEM ALWAYS PAY ATTENTION TO THE CORRECT COLOR ASSIGNMENT OF THE
INSTRUMENTS AND SCREWS!
2.5 MM HEADED SCREW
Color code: Luminous red
Kirschner w. trocar point, rd. end, Ø 0.9
mm, L. 80 mm
Ref. No. 91-004-0330-009-080
Drill the Kirschner wire to the desired depth into the bone using an image converter to check the placement.
HBS-Measuring Sleeve for Guide Wire
Ref. No. 91-INS-8203-00
Slide the measuring sleeve over the round end of the Kirschner wire, making sure that the tip of the
instrument rests against the bone. The length of the screw can be determined by means of the scaling on
the measuring sleeve. Check the length at the height of the end of the round Kirschner wire.
HBS-AO cann. drill bit Ø 2.0/1.0 mm, 70 mm
Color code: Luminous red
Ref. No. 91-INS-8301-11
Using the image converter to check placement, drill the cannulated drill into the bone over the Kirschner wire.
We recommend inserting the drill into the bone just short of the tip of the Kirschner wire. If the Kirschner
wire tip is over-drilled, it is possible that the Kirschner wire will also be pulled out together with the drill.
Countersink, AO, cann., Ø 4.0/1.1 mm, 60 mm
Color code: Turquoise blue/luminous red
Ref. No. 91-INS-8192-40
2.0 HS-Kopfschrauben
Optionally it is possible to countersink the screw head in the cortex. Place the cannulated countersink over the
Kirschner wire and onto the cortex and slowly rotate the countersink into the cortex. Important: For osteoporotic bone
conditions, it is recommended to perform this step without a power tool. To do this, clamp the countersink into the
screwdriver handle.
HBS cann. screw driver shaft,
HEX 1.5 mm/1.1 mm, 97 mm, AO-conn.
Color code: Turquoise blue/luminous red
Ref. No. 91-INS-8304-01-SW1.5
Connect the corresponding screwdriver shaft with the screwdriver handle. Place the screw on the screwdriver shaft.
Insert the screw together with the screwdriver over the Kirschner wire and turn the screw clockwise into the bone. Make
sure the screw comes to rest correctly and firmly on the cortex. Check the correct position of the screw with the help of
the image converter and then remove the Kirschner wire.
